These are some of the events I’m involved in this year.
You’ll find a brief description, venue, timings and a link for more info.
Join me and author Anne Goodwin as we discuss how fiction responded to the Covid-19 pandemic. We’ll be exploring the universal themes, both positive and negative, that emerge in pandemic-inspired literature. We’ll draw on work by international authors plus our own novels, Heartsound and Lyrics for the Loved Ones.
This event is part of a broader series of talks, workshops and readings presented by the East Midlands Society of Authors

Sherwood Art Week, Nottingham, 11-12 June
I’ll be selling books at this event with other members of the SherWords creative writing group.
We’ll also be exhibiting associated artwork and illustrated poetry, plus a few readings.

Newark Book Festival, Saturday 12th July - Sunday 13th July
Seek out the Inspired Quill bookstall at Newark Market Place where I’ll be selling books and chatting to readers alongside IQ author Anne Goodwin.
There’s lots going on at the festival including literary workshops, author talks, street food and entertainment.

Whitby Literary Festival 19-22 November
After the resounding success of last year’s first ever Whitby Literature Festival, this event returns for a second year. It celebrates writers inspired by the coast and the town’s rich literary heritage – from Bram Stoker’s Dracula to Charles Dickens and features events themed around crime fiction, gothic horror, working-class writing, nature and wellbeing.
I’ll be representing IQ on a pop-up bookshop, selling books and tote bags and chatting to readers.
